Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy used?
Re-certified offers
advantages. Our average price on re-certified networking
equipment is less than half of the manufacturers list price.
We buy-back most equipment, so your hardware investment is better
protected. In stock orders ship immediately, no agonizing waiting
periods for back ordered parts.
What is the difference between "refurbished" and "used"?
All equipment, including new equipment, receives the same level of testing and inspection through Horizon Datacom's testing procedures. The difference between refurbished and used is simply cosmetics - and cost. We have an extensive process for cosmetic refurbishing, including replacing missing or broken parts, such as face plates. Items marked as "used" are fully tested and functional, but have not been refurbished. The cost is lower to you, if you can accept minor cosmetic imperfections. Our warranty remains the same. Only gear sold "As Is" is sold without our warranty.
What does refurbished mean
other than blowing off the dust?
Every piece of equipment is thoroughly inspected, tested, cleaned as it moves
through our re-certification process. Equipment that is cosmetically affected
will have plastics replaced, LED s
replaced, scratches removed and repainted.

Am I Taxable?

state of Ohio or Illinois. You may be exempt from this tax by
providing your State Certification Of Exemption via fax to (614)-847-1112.
Are Cisco software licenses transferable?
All Cisco software licenses are not
transferable.
Cisco's policy is that Software, whether Standalone
or Embedded, is not transferable, except where a listed exception
below applies, and except, of course, where Cisco's contract
expressly allows it. Any other transfers will require the payment
of a new license fee (see Global Price List). For products
where there is no separate line item for the Software (i.e.
the prices for both the Hardware and Software are bundled),
and therefore, a fee cannot be determined, an exception will
be made to allow for the transfer without the customer being
required to obtain a new license (the customer may be required
to pay an inspection fee), if (A) Software to be transferred
(i) will be under a support contract provided by either Cisco
or a Cisco-authorized support partner or (ii) is still supported
by Cisco; or (B) approval from the theatre Sales Controller
has been obtained.
Use of the Software will be governed by either the original
license terms and conditions in place between Cisco and the
original Software licensee or by the new license between Cisco
and the new user. Cisco may withhold its consent to any transfer
not conforming to this policy.
